George Aquilina, Charles Callus, Mario Hales, Simon Mifsud, Simon Pisani, Angelo Sciberras, Anthony Vassallo, Paul Seguna and George Xuereb were killed in the tragedy of February 3, 1995.
The GWU maintained the tradition of visiting the memorial in Cospicua with the relatives of the victims and laying bouquets of flowers in their memory.
The union delegation was led by General Secretary Josef Bugeja and also included President Victor Carachi, Metal and Construction Secretary Jesmond Marshall and former General Secretary Tony Zarb.
Cospicua Mayor Alison Zammit Civelli also laid wreaths at the memorial, as did relatives of some of the victims.
