GWU-CGIL Contact Point

On 30 November 2019, a press conference was held at the GWU headquarters in Valletta to present the new trade unions Contact Point established by GWU and CGIL, in the presence of GWU officials and a large delegation from CGIL.
The Contact Point is a service designed to assist Italian workers, young people, and pensioners living in Malta. It offers support in areas such as hospitality, services, guidance and representation.
Its main objective is to connect Italian users with the various sections already operating within the GWU, enabling them to access trade union assistance and representation. The initiative aims to overcome language barriers and address the lack of awareness regarding workplace rights, while also keeping Italian citizens informed about relevant developments in their surroundings.
