GWU at the Pride March: In favour of a more inclusive, compassionate and tolerant country

“Every year, we take part in the Pride March. For us, as Malta’s largest trade union, this participation is in line with the values we have always worked for in the world of work and with our vision of the kind of country we want Malta to be.”

This was stated by the Secretary General of the General Workers’ Union (GWU), Kevin Camilleri, as the GWU took part in the Pride March held in Valletta.

Camilleri said that the GWU believes in a more inclusive, compassionate and tolerant country, where every person is respected and where efforts continue to eliminate stigma and discrimination against minorities.

The GWU’s participation in the Pride March further reinforced the Union’s message in favour of equality, inclusion and respect, both in society and in the world of work.

The Secretary General also called on other trade unions to join the GWU in promoting this message. “The values we speak about must also be put into practice. We therefore encourage other trade unions to join us so that, together, we can send a clear message in favour of a more inclusive and equal society and world of work,” Camilleri concluded.
