The General Workers’ Union has welcomed the news that James Pearsel has been nominated for the very important role as an MCESD Chairman. The GWU believes that Pearsel will be giving a very important contribution, in such a critical and difficult time for our country. The success of these past years was partly due to the strong and active social dialogue between the Social Partners and the Government.
The GWU would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr John Bencini, who for these past seven years, led the MCESD with impartiality, and in a large number of occastions, was instrumental in bringing together the social partners towards an agreement.
Now, the GWU looks forward to continuing the strengthening of this social dialogue, so that together we can overcome the challenges brought forward by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as other obstacles, both social as well as economic, that we will be facing in the future.
