General Secretary of the General Workers’ Union Josef Bugeja praised the multi- million investment in a new campus of the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) in Smart City, Kalkara, stressing that as GWU we have always believed in education and quality of life for workers.
Mr. Bugeja noted that this investment will provide more opportunities for our students studying in the tourism sector. He also spoke about the need to “retrain” and “upskill” students so that the services provided are truly of high quality. The Secretary of GWU Government and Public Entities Kendrick Bondin, expressed his satisfaction with this investment, which he believes continues to grow in the sector.
“ITS is a hardworking institution. Another educational institution that we need as Malta. Through this campus we hope that our staff will continue to be recognized for the work they do with so much heart and dedication to further strengthen our economy and attract more and more tourists and provide better service to Maltese residents in this sector,” said Mr. Bondin.
