Angelo Psaila recognised for his service to workers on the GWU National Council

During the General Workers’ Union (GWU) National Council meeting held on Monday, Angelo Psaila was recognised for his years of work and service on behalf of workers, as he prepares to retire.

The GWU Central Administration, composed of Secretary General Kevin Camilleri, President Jason Deguara and Deputy Secretary General Kevin Abela, presented Psaila with a commemorative token in recognition of his contribution to the National Council and his continued commitment to workers.

Psaila will retire in October following a career spanning more than 16 years with Lufthansa. Throughout these years, he also served as a shop steward for 16 years, while for almost six years he was a member of the GWU National Council.

Although he is preparing to close this chapter of his professional life, Psaila said that he will remain available to assist anyone who may need his support.

Speaking to this newspaper, Psaila said: “I have always believed that the GWU is the shield of workers. I have been a shop steward for 16 years and served for almost six years on the National Council. I will now be retiring in October. I have always worked for workers to ensure that my friends and colleagues receive what they deserve.”

The GWU thanks Angelo Psaila for his dedication, commitment and contribution on behalf of workers throughout these years, and wishes him every success and all the very best as he begins this new chapter in his life.
