Chemicals and Energy

Founded in 1971 to represent the interests of the workers in the petrol, rubber and plastics industry the Section continued to grow and expanded its trade union activity to reach workers from various sectors of the production industry.
Today, the Section organizes workers from the manufacturing and processing sector of wood, paper, cardboard, glass, ceramics, cement, tobacco, synthetics and pharmaceutical. Due to a routine reshuffle amongst the sections of the General Workers Union, the Section came to represent also employees in the energysector, mainly within the Enemalta PLC and Lufthansa Technik.
