GWU meets Minister Michael Falzon

The Secretary General of the General Workers’ Union (GWU), Kevin Camilleri, stated that the Union and the Ministry for Social Policy and the Family share common values, particularly those relating to social policy and pensions.

He made these remarks following a meeting between the GWU Central Administration and the Minister for Social Policy and the Family, Michael Falzon. The meeting formed part of a series of discussions the GWU is holding with Cabinet Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries.

Camilleri described the meeting with Minister Falzon as a valuable exchange of views and stressed that discussions of this nature should continue so that both sides can address important issues that directly affect workers, pensioners, and Maltese and Gozitan families.

For his part, Minister Michael Falzon described the meeting with the GWU as very positive. He noted that the GWU is a trade union that has always placed the interests of workers at the forefront of its work.

Minister Falzon emphasised that it is essential for the Ministry to continue organising meetings of this kind, as dialogue and collaboration create opportunities to put forward ideas and proposals that can make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

Also present on behalf of the GWU were Deputy Secretary General Kevin Abela and GWU Pensioners’ Association Secretary Pawlu Bugeja.

Minister Michael Falzon was accompanied by his Private Secretary, Louis Gatt.
