The General Workers’ Union has just signed a new Collective Agreement covering all the workers of De La Rue Currency and Security Print Ltd.
This agreement is the result of long months of talks with the management and the workers’ representatives. An agreement that continues to offer better working conditions to workers, stability and continuity, at a time when investment is being made in the company.
David Darmanin, the Secretary of the Technology, Electronics and Communication Section of the General Workers’ Union took the opportunity to thank all those who contributed with loyalty to the company and to the GWU, in order to achieve this -an agreement that should continue to improve workers’ conditions.
Terry Zammit, Plant Manager De La Rue said that he appreciates the work of the shop stewards and the representatives of the GWU, in his words he calls their work a vocation with the main aim of good for the company and finally from the end for every worker in it.
“The fact that we closed an intense collective agreement in a relatively short time sends an important message, stability and continuity.”
The agreement was signed by David Darmanin, Secretary of the GWU Section, Terry Zammit – Plant Manager, De La Rue, Elaine Mifsud Western – HR Business Partner, De La Rue together with the shop stewards and the representatives of the GWU . Present for the signing were the Secretary General of the GWU Josef Bugeja and the Deputy Secretary General of the GWU Kevin Camilleri.
