The GWU declares an industrial dispute with the Dar il-Hena Foundation

The General Workers’ Union has declared an industrial dispute with Fondazzjoni Dar il-Hena (FDH) regarding the fact that one worker assigned to the shift with the clients who go to these shelters for shelter is being left.

The Government and Public Entities Section of the GWU requested clarification as to how the decision was taken without consultation with the GWU where the Foundation confirmed this change.

Thus the GWU informed them that it does not agree with the answer and stresses that due to the health and safety of the workers there must always be at least two workers in these shelters.

The GWU always stresses that health and safety in the workplace is fundamental and has therefore declared an industrial dispute. It is also informing the DIER to monitor the process and set up a mediation meeting.
