Workers are not treated equally

The Government and Public Entities Section within the GWU has been informed about customs employees being given preference by being paid more allowances than workers holding the same post

The GWU has approached the management of the same section to discuss this situation urgently otherwise industrial action will be called. The GWU works hard to ensure that everyone is valued equally and therefore never accepts that workers at any level are treated differently, even when it comes to pay. These workers are doing the same job, so they should be paid the same, as agreed in the industry collective agreement for customs officers.

The GWU will meet with the customs administration before the Conciliation Board to reach an agreement on this situation immediately.
