New Collective Agreement for easyJet Engineering Malta Workers

Workers at easyJet Engineering Malta will benefit from improved wages and working
conditions thanks to a new Collective Agreement signed between the General Workers’
Union (GWU) and easyJet Engineering Malta. The agreement covers a three-year period
and aims to provide better financial stability for employees.


Following months of negotiations, Jurgen Azzopardi, representative of the Maritime and Aviation Section within the GWU, expressed satisfaction at the signing of the agreement. “I am pleased that this Collective Agreement has been finalized, strengthening wages and conditions for workers. I extend my gratitude to everyone involved in this process and express my satisfaction that this agreement will offer greater financial security to employees,” he stated.

Azzopardi also took the opportunity to thank Sandro Vella, the outgoing Secretary of the Maritime and Aviation Section, as well as the employees who worked hand in hand to achieve this agreement.

Daniel Galea, Managing Director of easyJet Engineering Malta, welcomed the signing,
stating: “We are pleased to announce the successful signing of this Collective Agreement between easyJet Engineering Malta and the General Workers’ Union in favor of our employees. This milestone reflects our commitment to ensuring a harmonious and collaborative work environment. The agreement establishes a solid foundation for shared and equal prosperity for all. The agreement was signed by GWU’s Maritime and Aviation Section representative Jurgen Azzopardi, shop stewards Paul Attard and Benny Agius, and representatives Daniel Kitney and Dylan Abela. On behalf of easyJet Engineering Malta, the agreement was signed by Managing Director Daniel Galea and Human Resources Manager Maria Tanti. The signing took place in the presence of GWU Secretary General Josef Bugeja and easyJet Engineering Malta’s Head of Finance, Jonathan Spiteri.
