GWU registers industrial dispute with the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage

The Government, Public Entities and Health Section of the General Workers’ Union (GWU) has registered an industrial dispute with the Department of Industrial and Employment Relations (DIER) after the Union failed to receive the final document for the collective agreement, despite an agreement having been reached with the management of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage during the negotiations.

Following negotiations, both parties had reached an agreement without prejudice. However, despite several requests and reminders, the final document has not been submitted to the GWU to proceed. As a result, the Agreement cannot be presented to the Union’s members for their consideration and approval.

In these circumstances, the GWU had no alternative but to register an industrial dispute with DIER in order to safeguard the integrity of the negotiation process and protect the interests of the workers it represents.

The GWU remains committed to constructive social dialogue and hopes the matter will be resolved without further delay, allowing the Collective Agreement to be presented to its members for their consideration and approval.
