The Federation “Construction, Industry and Water Supply” – “Podkrepa” (FCIW–Podkrepa) is proud to present its new publication — “Promotion of Debate on Objective Bases”, developed within the framework of the European project ProSDinWater – Promotion and Strengthening of the Social Dialogue in Water Services through Innovative Approaches (Project No. 101102352).
This guidebook is the result of two years of collaborative work among experts, trade union representatives, employers, and academic specialists from Bulgaria, Italy, Malta, and North Macedonia. It provides analyses, research findings, and practical recommendations for improving and modernising social dialogue in the water supply and sanitation sector.
The publication highlights:
- National and comparative reports on the state of social dialogue in the water sector;
- Analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of social partnership;
- Key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessing the effectiveness of social dialogue;
- A Memorandum on Social Partnership – a tool designed to support future negotiations and cooperation between social partners;
- Concrete recommendations and quality standards for effective dialogue and sectoral governance.
The guidebook emphasises the strategic importance of the water sector for sustainable development and social stability, while also underlining the need for objective and measurable indicators in decision-making on labour and social policies.
ProSDinWater is the first EU-funded project dedicated solely to social dialogue in the water sector, implemented with the support of the European Commission.
The Federation FCIW–Podkrepa extends its sincere gratitude to all partners, experts, and organisations involved in the preparation of this publication. This guidebook is intended as a practical tool for trade unions, employers, public authorities, and academics striving for a stronger and more sustainable social dialogue.
