The GWU thanks the Enemalta workers who are engaged in the emergency works
The General Workers’ Union joins in solidarity with the Enemalta workers together with those of the contractor who are working hard on the emergency works to repair the damages that are developing in various parts of the system of -distribution of electricity in Malta. Faults that are leading to cuts in electricity supply in several areas.
Workers who are working non-stop to reduce as much as possible the time of interruptions in the supply of electricity for customers.
“While we understand that this is a nuisance in these extreme temperatures, however we fully condemn all those who are writing derogatory words full of insults on social media to these workers, apart from the insults and even physical violence against them at work.
“It would be more valuable and helpful for a person to hand them a glass of fresh water than to throw something at them while they are hanging high or in a trench repairing,” said the Secretary of the Chemical and Energy Section, Rita Dimech.
