After the Civil Protection Union (CPU) affiliated itself with the General Workers’ Union (GWU) a few weeks ago, joint recognition was requested from the two unions to represent the officers of the Department of Civil Protection.
This recognition was given after the verification process with DIER concluded that the absolute majority of workers are members of the Union.
These workers are already covered by a sectoral agreement that was signed by the CPU in 2020 where several conditions were obtained. Accordingly, the next sectoral agreement will be negotiated between the two unions.
