The General Workers’ Union through the Professionals, Finances and Services Section obtained the main recognition of the workers in the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
This exercise could be carried out after the workers joined the GWU as members and we requested a verification from the DIER.
Recognition that was given after the verification process by DIER where it concluded that the majority of workers engaged as Senior Heads, Heads and Senior Managers are members of the General Workers’ Union.
Now the next step is to start negotiations with the management for a new Collective Agreement with the aim of improving the conditions of these workers including the financial package.
The Secretary of the Section Riccarda Darmanin thanked the workers for the trust they showed when they approached the GWU to improve their situation at the workplace.
