The Technology, Electronics and Communication Section of the General Workers’ Union has just signed a Collective Agreement with the company Hotset Malta Ltd. A Collective Agreement that will see an improvement in workers’ wages and working conditions among others.
The Secretary of the Technology, Electronics and Communication Section David Darmanin thanked everyone for the work done to make this negotiation that will bear fruit in this company.
“No collective agreement is simple, especially when wages are discussed. Due to the current situation of the war in Ukraine, after we have gone through a pandemic, the prospects for the coming years are still very uncertain. This agreement aims to provide some stability by ensuring that employees have guaranteed raises during the agreement period. The agreement also incentivizes the improvement of skills and flexibility,” said the General Manager of Hotset Malta Ltd. Engineer Neville Porter.
He added that the company’s vision is long-term and every effort is being made to find the right balance between remaining competitive in today’s market while providing wage structures that aim to retain experienced and hard-working employees.
“Furthermore, Hotset Malta Ltd. also seeks to provide its employees with a pleasant working environment through a comfortable workplace as well as flexibility in working hours.”
He said that this agreement has been updated to be in line with recent legislation such as paternity leave and carer’s leave.
The Collective Agreement for four years was signed by the Secretary for the Technology, Electronics and Communication Section David Darmanin and the General Manager of Hotset Malta Ltd. Engineer Neville Porter.
