VNVN urges the competent authorities to urgently consider investing inthe white cane, which is an essential tool for the daily mobility of blind people.

While the investment in the guide dog is positively and deservedly noted,
the same emphasis must be given to the white cane. This will ensure that; all blind
people in our country have a white cane to always be assured that they can enjoy
independent access and full dignity as much as possible.

VNVN believes that with this measure, when in the World 7% of the blind have a
white cane, Malta and its blind associations will be of advice to the world around us to
further strengthen the culture of independent life beyond the light in our country.
