Valletta – Employees of Mizzi Motors Ltd. will benefit from enhanced wages, better
working conditions, and further training following the signing of a new Collective
Agreement between the company and the General Workers’ Union (GWU).
The Technology, Electronics, and Communication Section of the GWU reached a
three-year agreement that aims to improve the financial and professional well-being
of Mizzi Motors Ltd. employees.
David Darmanin, Secretary of the GWU section, expressed gratitude to both the
union members and committee for their dedication and support in achieving this
milestone. He also extended thanks to the workforce for their loyalty to both the
company and the union, which paved the way for this agreement.
Company leadership also welcomed the renewed collaboration. Ian Mizzi, Managing
Director of Mizzi Motors Ltd., wished success to his employees while acknowledging
the union’s efforts in finalizing the agreement, which benefits both parties.
Acknowledging challenges within the automotive industry, Maurizio Micallef, Chief
Operations Officer of Mizzi Motors Ltd., emphasized the importance of strengthening
cooperation with employees. He underscored the necessity of worker training to
improve productivity and keep the company moving forward.
Shop steward Joseph Demanuele expressed his satisfaction at witnessing his first
Collective Agreement signing. He praised both the union and company leadership for
their commitment to workers’ rights, extending his gratitude to his fellow employees.
The agreement was signed by GWU’s David Darmanin, Mizzi Motors Ltd. executives
Ian Mizzi and Maurizio Micallef, Human Resources Manager Muriel Scicluna, and
shop steward Joseph Demanuele.
