Valletta – The General Workers’ Union (GWU) and MaltaPost p.l.c. have officially signed a new collective agreement that will define employment conditions for the period spanning 2025 to 2029. This landmark agreement is the result of months of constructive dialogue and collaboration between union representatives and company management, reflecting a shared commitment to fairness, sustainability, and mutual respect in the workplace.
The agreement introduces significant salary increases across all grades, including a substantial adjustment in the first year, effective January 2025. All existing allowances have been retained, while new benefits have been introduced to address the evolving needs of MaltaPost’s operations and to recognize the dedication of its workforce.
Long-service bonuses have been enhanced, offering greater rewards for loyalty and commitment. Additionally, a clearer pathway for career progression has been established, aimed at supporting employee development and retention.
This collective agreement marks a positive step forward for industrial relations in Malta, reinforcing the importance of dialogue and partnership in achieving equitable outcomes for workers and employers alike.
